Lemon ginger shot with honey

Ginger, lemon, honey... these are all foods with good effects for our body. So it's no wonder that the lemon ginger shot with honey is one of the most popular shots. There are countless recipes online, you can drink it pure as a shot or you can always take it with you as a diluted version with your regular water. Everyone as they like, and can... because depending on the recipe, it can also be spicy 🙂 If you would like to read more about the topic of lemon ginger shot effects: atfairment.dewe found a really cool article about it.

We had one on the block a while backLemon ginger shot with a juicershown. Now we prefer to make the shot differently, which is also because we no longer have a juicer because we simply didn't use it enough back then. The variant here goes back to the classic “Lemon Ginger Shot Thermomix” recipe. However, we simply made it in a pot and without a Thermomix.

We also made the recipe a little sweeter because it was just too spicy for us at the beginning. But you just have to try it yourself and then you can simply sweeten it if necessary or use less ginger from the start. By the way, we also found the recipe online with oranges instead of lemons, but we haven't tested that yet.

Servings:1 Liter

Accesories

  • 1 sieve

  • 1 bottle1 Liter

Ingredients

  • 250 g Ginger roots
  • 5 Piece Organic lemons
  • 500 g Honig
  • 1 Liter Water (still)

So funktioniert´s

  • First we washed our ginger and pre-chopped it into coarse pieces. Now you can either put it in a blender or chop it into small pieces by hand. It shouldn't be too fine, because at the end we want to be able to sieve out the ginger again.

  • Then we squeeze the washed lemons and put the juice aside. You can save 4 of the lemon halves. We put them in the pot right away (that's why it's so important that they are untreated)

  • Now put your chopped ginger roots, the water and the 4 lemon halves in a large pot.

  • Now let it simmer gently on the stove for about 20 minutes.

  • Then take it off the heat and pour it through a sieve into another large bowl. Let it cool for about 5 minutes and then stir in your honey and lemon juice.

  • You can then pour the finished result into your bottle (it is a little more than 1 liter). Then refrigerate immediately, otherwise fermentation will not begin.

Tips & Tricks

Important: Shake the lemon ginger shot before serving, a few pieces tend to separate.

How long does the lemon ginger shot last?

It will keep refrigerated for around 3 weeks.

Can I sweeten the shot with something else?

It goes e.g. B. also with agave syrup. We had that with our other shot recipe. But we found the version with honey tastier. But we also want to try again with u003ca href=u0022https://www.diekuechebrennt.de/simple-syrup-rezept-zuckersirup/u0022 target=u0022_blanku0022 rel=u0022noreferrer noopeneru0022u003eSimple Syrupu003c/au003e as a sweetener.

Can I also add the shot to tea or make lemon ginger water?

Of course, that works too. The water just shouldn't be too hot.

Hello Inge, there is nothing in it that children are not allowed to eat. However, with the ginger it is really spicy depending on the composition. Maybe in diluted form? If in doubt, I would just ask the pediatrician at the next visit, we are not professionals either :)

What, it blows everything out really well. I used about 200g of honey. That's enough or even less. Squeezed in 1 orange and lime. If it's too spicy...just dilute it with orange juice or apple juice. It tastes delicious. I drink it every morning.
